Established History of Customer Satisfaction in East Tennessee
About Us
Leinart’s, Inc. was born during the Depression by Margaret Leinart on the corner of Walnut and Market Street in downtown Knoxville, East Tennessee. Her husband, Byron, was usually gone with his job as a traveling sales rep for several big companies up North. With three kids and no drivers license, she rode the street car to the office daily! As refrigeration and air conditioning were new to the area, she started her business as a wholesaler for parts in 1933. Eventually, she and Byron ran Leinart’s Engineering Company. Byron had graduated UT in 1923 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. In 1960, Leinart’s, Inc. became Incorporated and remains so today.
They had several locations through the years, offering a wide product line of wholesale items for industrial and manufacturing businesses. Through the years, what we offer has changed depending on technological advancements.
But what hasn’t changed is our drive to give superior attention to our product line, customer service that we offer and end user satisfaction with the overall transaction from start to finish!!! This is what sets us apart from Corporate America. Customers value businesses that treat them well and do their best to deliver products and services with courtesy and care. Some of our customers have been with us over 50 years!
Today, we are carrying on the tradition of being a Women Owned Business. When Mrs. Leinart passed away in 1985, her grandson, Jim Mynatt, took over the business for the next 37 years. Following his retirement, Roger and Kristi Chesney purchased Leinart’s in 2022 and will continue to offer the top notch level of customer service our customers have come to know and expect over the years! We look forward to providing you with your business needs while still being a small, family owned business in East Tennessee!
